**Fire Sprinkler Installation**

This trade covers the installation of automatic fire sprinkler systems in buildings, including sprinkler pipework, hangers, supports, valves and sprinkler heads, so that the system is correctly laid out, securely fixed, leak free and ready for testing and commissioning.

1. Read and interpret fire sprinkler layout drawings, isometric drawings and installation instructions

2. Take site measurements and set out pipe routes, hanger positions and sprinkler head locations

3. Measure, cut, thread and groove steel pipes to the required lengths

4. Join pipes using threaded fittings, grooved couplings and mechanical fittings

5. Install pipe hangers, brackets and supports at the correct spacing and level

6. Install control valves, alarm valves, flow switches, drain valves and test connections

7. Fit sprinkler heads at the correct position, orientation and height according to drawings

8. Carry out hydrostatic pressure testing and check for leaks

9. Use hand tools and power tools such as pipe threaders, groovers, cutters and wrenches safely

10. Complete the practical test within the given time following safe work practices
