**Glazing**

This trade covers the installation of glass panels in windows, doors, partitions, shopfronts and curtain wall frames, including measuring, cutting, handling, fixing and sealing of glass so that it is securely fitted, watertight and safe.

1. Read and interpret drawings, glazing schedules and installation instructions

2. Take site measurements and check frames and openings for size, plumb and square

3. Select the correct type and thickness of glass for the application

4. Measure, mark and cut glass to the required size using glass cutters and cutting tools

5. Handle, lift and position glass panels safely using suction cups and carrying aids

6. Fit setting blocks, spacers and location blocks in the frame before glazing

7. Install glass panels into frames and secure them with glazing beads, gaskets or clips

8. Apply sealant and putty to make the glazing weathertight and neat

9. Clean the glass and frames and make good the surrounding finish

10. Complete the practical test within the given time following safe work practices
